Peg Dolls for Sale!

It's the beginning of 2014.  Which means...Peg Doll sets are for sale!

I posted awhile back on my other blog (supermessysupermommy.blogspot.com) about the Peg Doll Princesses I made for my niece for Christmas.

I was surprised at how many responses I got from people asking if I would sell them.

Ask and you shall receive, right??

You can own your very own set of 8 Peg Dolls for just $55!  And you're not limited to a set of Princesses. Please!  I've been hard at work, brainstorming ideas for different sets of 8 dolls.

The Princes.

The Villians (because some people root for the bad guys, okay?).

Peter Pan and characters.

I'm particularly jazzed about this one.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (or is it Dwarves?).

Or, you can mix and match your own set of 8. So you want your child's 8 favorite characters? Can do.

My daughter for Christmas, after seeing the set I was painting for her cousin, requested her own Princess dolls. Except, with Diva Avery, she couldn't just have the standard set of 8 Princesses. Instead, she wanted 4 Princesses and....

Boo, from Monsters Inc.

Complete with Little Mikey doll.

Izzy, from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Sofia, from Sofia the First.

And finally, mommy's least favorite children's character that my kid is completely obsessed with.....

Dora, from Dora the Explorer.

With Backpack and Map, of course.

And there's Avery's personalized set of 8!

But I'm not stopping at dolls either. For Avery's set, I found a small box to keep them all in.

I would love to paint and personalize your box to keep your very own Peg Doll set.

Or how about these ideas?

A purse to tote your Princesses:

Or a treasure chest for your Jake and Neverland Pirates set.

Say you don't need a place to store them, but would love a play to play with them.

How about a castle?

Or a Pirate ship?

I would love to make your personalized set of Peg Dolls, with or without accessories! Just message me and we'll create your very own set together!

2014, 28th and Hudson style.

Whew.

Christmas KNOCKED me out, y'all.  For a span of about three weeks, I was up until midnight, one am or later, sitting at my kitchen table painting.

Here's a little fun fact about me:  I cannot say no.  I will stretch myself to the very end of my limits in attempts to make people happy.  This Christmas, I did just that.  I took on an overwhelming amount of orders and made up for them in lack of sleep.

Now, on January 3rd, I am happy to say that I am completely caught up on orders.  Shipped, received, completed, I am done with Christmas 2013 orders.

Which means:  I'm ready for 2014 orders!  Bring 'em on, peoples!

That being said, there will be one big change made to the 28th and Hudson Designs business.

I will be increasing my prices slightly.

Due to the price of materials and SHIPPING (dear Lord, shipping is ridiculously expensive), I have no choice but to increase my prices.  Prices in the past were determined by the size of the canvas.  Instead, I will be determining prices based on the difficulty of the painting.  I will list prices next to each item that's for sale...but that will be the price that is only good for that single item.  If you want a custom order, we will determine price based on the size and difficulty.  Shipping, of course, will be additional and will depend on where the item is being shipped to.

In 2014, in the spirit of New Year's Resolutions, I vow to do the following things:

1.  Have orders completed and shipped three weeks from the day that payment is received.

2.  I resolve to keep up with the blog and the Facebook page.  Pictures, posts, updates, all of it.

3.  I would like to do two craft shows this year. Glendale Days, Cecilia Days, it doesn't matter.  This past year, I only got to make paintings that people ordered.  I would like to sit down and make paintings that I've sketched out...not that anyone has ordered.

I am deeply appreciative to each and every one of you that have ordered a painting in 2013.  Here's to hoping that 2014 will be even better!

Paintings for 11-14-13

I've been REALLY terrible about keeping up with my 28th and Hudson business pages and blog.  No more!  Here's some paintings that I've completed lately (I've been a busy little worker bee this week!).  Anything you see is for sale and is completely customizable for whatever your needs may be!

"Born a...." paintings!   Living in Kentucky, these two paintings were wayyyy overdue.  Don't you just love them??  If I hadn't made them for a charity auction, the blue one might have stayed at my house to adorn my wall....the downsides to painting awesome things for customers!

I can literally do these ANY way you want.  I can customize it with any state, colors, quote in the middle, font...you name it, I can make it happen for you!  If you want the shape of Ohio, with "born a Buckeye" in the middle in a block font, I'll make it happen.  :)

Prices:  16" x 20"--$30
11" x 14"--$25
8" x 10"--$20

This was a custom-made wooden sign for my aunt.  The quote is an inside joke between her and her friends and she wanted this to go in her friend's beach house.  Normally, I don't do such bright colored paintings.  I'm more of a subdued colors and country color schemes...but I'm really loving how this turned out.

Again.  Totally customizable.  I can do whatever quote, whatever colors, whatever font your little heart desires!

Price: small wooden sign:  $10
medium wooden sign: $15
large wooden sign:  $20

Not the best picture in the entire world, but these are two canvases that were made to match a grey and yellow nursery.  My cousin from North Carolina asked me if I could make this very special gift.  She's attending the baby shower of a friend who was told that she would never be able to have children.  After years of trying, they have a little bundle of their own on the way.  I hope the momma-to-be likes them!!

You know what's coming, right?  These are completely customizable.  Whatever background design (within reason...I'm not Picasso ;-)), colors, quote, verse, fonts you want.  I love seeing what people come up with!

Prices:  set of 8" x 10" canvases--$35
11" x 14" set--$40
16" x 20"--$45

(canvas sizes can be customized...if you want an 8" x 10" and a 18" x 24", we can make it happen!)

"Oh Holy Night" painting made for a mantle.  This thing is HUGE.  Seriously, huge.  It's a 24" x 36".  And I'm obsessed with it.

Again, any quote, any colors, any font.

Prices:  24" x 36"--$50
18" x 24"--$35
16" x 20"--$30

I've been working my little painting fingers to the bone....hope to have more pictures ready to share with you all soon!!  And I would LOVE to make something for your home!!

Ideas...August 19th

I haven't really had time to come up with any new ideas or doodles because I've been working like a busy little bee on completing some orders.  I reallllly hope to have pictures of some orders soon.

In the meantime, here's a few doodles I've whipped up over the last week or so.

How cute would this be on a piece of long wood too?  The house on one end and the quote following?  Mine and Marty's very first home was a tiny little thing.  But love lived there.  And it was home. :)

I'm not loving the sketch of this.  But can you picture this on a canvas with a sun shining in the background and the words in bright, fun colors?  I can see this hanging in a kid's bathroom.  What better way to start the day than with this reminder??

Also, you may be curious, but this is usually how I doodle.....on the back of a bank envelope.  Words and drawings jumbled everywhere.  Usually the doodles I post here are ones that I've "cleaned up" from an original, much rougher version.

I'm feeling like another printable/giveaway.....who's in?

Cabinet to Canvas?

So, I found these cabinet fronts the other day at a junk sale.  I'm feeling super inspired by them.

Can't you picture the outside of the cabinet being painted like a frame and then having a quote or a Bible verse or a monogram or whatever your little heart desires in the middle of it???

Would anyone be interested in something like this?  Or did I waste my money?

Chalk + A Driveway = Inspiration

Sometimes, all you need is a bucket of chalk and a driveway for inspiration to hit.

I'm picturing this as a giant canvas, or a set of two canvases.  This is special to Marty and I because it was the Bible verse that the preacher chose to talk about at our wedding.

Great for an office, paint room, kid's playroom....

I can't take credit for the design on this one.  It was a quote I found on Pinterest.  I thought it was so perfect, I didn't want to mess with it at all.

Obviously, any of these can be done in any color imaginable.  When you're drawing with chalk, options are pretty limited to draw things out.

I would have done so much more, but my kid came outside and made me come in and eat dinner.  Who says I have to be the adult all the time?

New Sketches {July 2013}

More ideas are flowin'.

This calls for a photo dump!

I'm super obsessed with this one.  Can you picture a giant canvas with this in a little (or big!) girl's room?  Your bathroom where you get ready everyday?  Your closet?  What a reminder that beauty is fleeting.  Start worrying about what's on the inside girls, because the outside isn't gonna last forever.  *steps off soapbox*

I've also been playing around with what some paintings would look like on a piece of wood.

Mr. and Mrs. sign.  Would be neat over your bed or over the master bedroom door, no?

So, if you know me, you know that I'm a farmer's daughter.  I have a ridiculous amount of pride from being raised in a farm family.  I love my parents' farm.  I love the FFA.  And I cry like a big 'ole baby every time I see the "God made a farmer" video.

I'm picturing this one in a kitchen or a farm themed boy's room or an office.  Or just making it for myself and hanging it in my house....in a subdivision....on an acre of land.  Fits, right?

*sigh*  Fearfully and wonderfully made.   I see this one in nurseries a lot.  But it doesn't just have to be for a baby's room.  I'm 27 years old and I'm fearfully and wonderfully made too, am I not?

As long as I'm actually having ideas, I'm going to keep sketching them out.  So send the orders my way so I can actually make these pieces in real life!!

**Any photos here are just sketches.  They can be made any way you want!  If you see an idea on a barn wood sign, but want it on a canvas, it can happen!  I can do any color you want, any fonts you want, any size you want (provided I can find it at a craft/wood store).  Just message me!
